Doesn't match version purchased directly from web site
I tested this app out using the free version from the web site. I was very happy with it and decided it was better to purchase through the Apple store to make re-installing it on a reformatted or new computer easier. Bad choice. The web site says the two apps are the same. They aren't even close. The App store software is several versions behind the free one available online. Unfortunately, the watermark on the free one goes across the entire middle of the video rendering it useless. Until this app is updated to match even Filmora8 (They're now on Filmora9 online.). it's not worth your money. I was so excited to have an app that could do everything I needed and have been frustrated and disappointed by the app store version.
It could be *so* good..
This is essentially like a beefed-up Camtasia that’s geared toward video editing - I love the concept. The execution is pretty good, but there needs to be some substantial QA put into this before it will be ready to take on iMovie. Most video editors will allow for the play/stop to be triggered by the space bar. Filmora does as well, but sometimes it just decides to exit fullscreen a few times when you’re playing through your video. There isn’t an ability to put a transition between a title slide and a video clip - you can only add them between video clips, which makes for extra work to get a smooth transition betweent titles and video. There are some other small things, but the developers are definitely headed in the right direction. Being able to get additional themes, titles, transitions, and screen elements is something that iMovie is sorely missing, and not everyone wants to take the leap to put in the hours learning Final Cut. I’m hoping they put more QA time into their Mac version, because this would be an absolutely awesome video editing package if they did.
Good but disappointing
A friend referred me to this program. I bought it and I love how simple it is and how cool the effects are. It makes my videos look great. However the program has been crashing a lot. I have updated it too. I spent a lot of hours editing a full video of mine and the program then crashed. I opened Filmora again and tried editing the video once again- but there is no video or sound playing. I only see the titles and the transitions as the video plays. And when I export the video- I can see the video but there is no sound. This is quite disappointing and I feel like my hard work flew out the window.
